Blue Lake CrossFit Terms & Conditions
The following information has been produced to ensure that all members are assured of a comfortable and enjoyable experience on each and every one of their visits. Although the items in this list are detailed in their nature, it is anticipated that for the majority of members there will be little or no need ever to refer to them. They do however allow the staff of Blue Lake CrossFit to provide a service that we believe is second to none.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By signing up for membership or attending our facility, you agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions, our Membership Agreement, Waiver, Privacy Policy, and any relevant facility rules.
2. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver
You acknowledge CrossFit workouts involve strenuous physical activity (e.g. weightlifting, gymnastics, high‑intensity training) and accept that participation carries risks—including injury, disability, or death. You agree to release Blue Lake CrossFit, our staff, agents, and affiliates from claims.
·Full waiver to be signed upon beginning membership and prior to participating.
3. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blue Lake CrossFit, our staff and representatives against any liabilities, damages, losses, or costs, including legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms, negligence, or misconduct.
4.1 Memberships
Our Memberships are to be paid weekly or fortnightly, taken directly by our member platform “FitBox”
Late or Missed payment will incur a late payment fee of $6 on top of your membership.
Over a 12 month period membership may be paused for a total of four weeks only, period starting 1/7-30/6.
4.2 Cancellation/Refunds
14 days’ notice must be given to cancel your membership, if your billing date is within these 14 days you will be billed in full as usual.
if by reason of death or disability, member is unable to receive all Blue Lake CrossFit’s services for which member has contracted, member and member’s estate shall be relieved from the obligation of making payment for services other than those received or obligated prior to death or the onset of disability (subject to signed doctor’s note regarding the nature of the disability)
4.3 Membership fees
Membership fees shall be fixed by Blue Lake CrossFit and may be altered at any time. Members will be notified (in person, by notices posted on notice boards, in the private Facebook group and through email) of any changes in the fees prior to the date of the alteration.
5. Open Gym
Open gym is a time where you can catch up on a missed WOD, work on your weakness’, or do some mobility work- the choice is yours.
The rules
Coached classes get priority over space, equipment and music, space may be shared, speak to Coach if unsure what space is needed.
Tidy up after yourself and help reset for the next class, the room setup should be returned to how the coach needs it to run the upcoming class.
Any injuries or equipment breaking must be reported to a member of staff
Open Gym Schedule is subject to change at short notice.
Only members in good standing with Blue Lake CrossFit or as deemed competent can hold Open Gym access privileges (as determined by head coach)
Use equipment responsibly and safely.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the facility.
Assume responsibility for any personal belongings brought to the Gym.
8. Health Screening & Medical Advice
Members must be medically cleared to participate and be encouraged to consult a qualified medical professional as needed. The facility is not responsible for providing medical advice.
9. Smoking
Please note that Blue Lake CrossFit is a non-smoking environment. The whole site is a no smoking site.
10. Fire Emergency plan
In the event of a fire, members are asked to make their way in an orderly fashion to the nearest available exit which are clearly signed and convene at the car park in front of Blue Lake CrossFit.
Members are advised not to fight the fire but leave the premises and call the fire brigade. There are fire extinguishers located throughout the building should it be necessary to combat flames.
11. Medical Emergency plan
In the event of a medical emergency the first aider on duty will assess the medical need and provide treatment and call for help.
Members with relevant training are encouraged to help and call for the ambulance service.
12. Lost property
All lost property found on the premises should be handed into a member of staff. Items will be stored for at least one month before possibly being donated to local charities.
13. Facility Rules & Conduct
Members must follow rules of safe equipment usage, hygiene, respectful behaviour—failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of membership.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Personal data gathered (e.g. contact details, health information) must be handled per Australian Privacy Act requirements.
Refer to the separate Privacy Policy outlining collection, use, storage, and consent.
15. Compliance with Regulations
These terms align with current industry standards such as the AUS active National Fitness Industry Code of Practice and relevant state fitness industry regulations.
16. Termination
Blue Lake CrossFit may terminate membership if a member breaches terms, endangers themselves or others, or fails to make payments.
Upon termination, fees due up to that date remain payable.
17. Changes to Terms
Blue Lake CrossFit reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions with reasonable notice. Existing members will be notified and have an opportunity to review changes.
18. Severability
If any provision is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the agreement remains binding.
19. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia.
Blue Lake CrossFit Privacy Policy

We implement technical, physical, and administrative safeguards to protect your data. Payment data is handled through encrypted, PCI-compliant systems.

Member health and administrative records: up to 7 years
Marketing leads: e.g. up to 18 months
6. Your Privacy Rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have rights including:
Accessing your personal information
Requesting corrections
Deleting or restricting processing
Withdrawing consent (esp. for marketing)
7. Cookies & Tracking
We may use cookies or analytics tools to improve functionality and user experience. You may block cookies via your browser, although some site features may be affected.
8. Policy Updates
We may revise this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. Changes will be posted prominently on our website and communicated to members, with an updated “Effective Date”.
